Maid-Rite Sandwich, Loose Meat Sandwich

Making a Classic Maid-Rite Sandwich with Tyner Pond Farm Beef

Hey Everyone!

Today, we're talking about the Maid-Rite sandwich. It's a simple, tasty sandwich from the Midwest, and we're going to make it even better with Tyner Pond Farm's grass-fed ground beef. Let’s get right into it.

What's a Maid-Rite Sandwich?

The Maid-Rite is a loose meat sandwich that started in Iowa in the 1920s. It's ground beef on a bun, but not like a burger or a sloppy joe. The meat isn't in a patty, and there's no thick sauce. It’s all about the beef's flavor.

Why Use Tyner Pond Farm's Beef

Our grass-fed ground beef isn't just good for you; it tastes great too. It's perfect for a Maid-Rite because it's all about the meat's quality and flavor.

How to Make a Maid-Rite Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Tyner Pond Farm grass-fed ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • Hamburger buns
  • Toppings (if you want): mustard, pickles, ketchup

Steps:

  1. Cook the beef and onion in a pan until the beef is brown and the onion is soft.
  2. Get rid of the extra fat. Add in the brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Let it cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes. You want the meat to be moist and loose.
  5. Toast your buns if you like them that way.
  6. Put the meat on the bun. Add mustard, pickles, or ketchup if you want.
  7. Put the top of the bun on, and you’re good to go.

Wrap-Up

The Maid-Rite sandwich is a big deal here in the Midwest, and for a good reason. With our beef, it’s not just tasty; it’s also from a farm that cares about doing things right. Give it a try and see how good it can be with quality ingredients.
