Handling Increased Demand: Why Our Farm Stays Steady in Times of Panic Buying

We’ve noticed an increase in purchases recently, likely due to concerns about disruptions in the global supply chain. With the ongoing port uncertainties, (not to mention politics and wars) many are understandably worried about shortages. We want to take this moment to reassure you that Tyner Pond Farm is in no way dependent on the global food system. The U.S. food system is more fragile than many realize.  Our country's reliance on imports has created vulnerabilities, particularly in times of crisis. It's genuinely mind numbing how much of our food we now import just in the name of cheaper prices.  For example, it’s not uncommon for chickens raised in the U.S. to be sent overseas for processing before being re-imported for sale.  These practices expose our food supply to significant risk whenever global trade is disrupted. At Tyner Pond Farm, we operate entirely outside of this global network. Our farm raises and processes animals locally every week, ensuring a consistent and secure supply of nutrient-dense, pasture-raised meats. While we’ve seen unusual volume recently, our local supply chain remains unaffected by international disruptions. If something is sold out today, give it a couple of days—it will be back in stock soon, regardless of what’s happening elsewhere. Rest assured, whether you're buying today or later, Tyner Pond Farm will continue to provide a reliable, local source of food, free from the vulnerabilities of a global system. We appreciate your continued trust and support as we remain committed to providing you with quality, locally raised food. Chris Baggott Tyner Pond Farm
