Two thick-cut pork chops, marked with grill lines and glistening with marinade, cook beside ears of corn, their kernels beginning to char. The scene captures the essence of a summer evening meal, simple yet satisfying.

Indiana Pork Chops with Tyner Pond Farm's Simple Asian Marinade

At Tyner Pond Farm, we believe in the simple goodness of honest food. Our local and pasture-raised pork is a testament to that belief, raised with care and respect for the land and the animals. To complement this quality, we offer a straightforward marinade recipe that embodies our values and made with ingredients you likely have on hand.

Ingredients: (enough for 4 pork chops)

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger (or 1/2 teaspoon fresh grated)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, whisk together all ingredients until well combined.
  2. Marinate the Pork Chops: Place the pork chops in a ziploc or container, pour the marinade over them, and ensure they're well coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or even overnight  for deeper flavor.
  3. Grill the Pork Chops (Medium Heat): Preheat your grill to medium heat. Remove the pork chops from the marinade, discarding the excess. Grill for approximately 6-8 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F.
  4. Rest and Serve: After cooking, let the pork chops rest for a few minutes. When pork cooks, the heat draws the juices towards the center. Resting gives those juices a chance to spread back throughout the meat, so every bite is flavorful and juicy. Then, serve and enjoy.
This simple marinade, with its balance of savory and sweet notes, enhances the natural taste of our local and pasture-raised pork. It's a testament to our commitment to simple, wholesome food that nourishes both body and soul. We hope you enjoy this taste of Tyner Pond Farm.
