Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole

Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole is a cheesy chicken pasta dish that the entire family will love! This simple recipe features pasta, tender pasture-raised chicken from Tyner Pond Farm, ranch dressing, seasonings, cheese, and crispy bacon. Enjoy straightforward flavors for a quick and delicious dinner. At Tyner Pond Farm, we are always looking for hearty, wholesome, and easy recipes to feed our hungry team. We often work late and need food that doesn’t take a lot of time. We do a lot of canning and always have canned pasture-raised chicken on hand for recipes like this, but any pulled, cubed, or shredded chicken will do. Note:  Our team like to have plenty of Sriracha, Franks or Cholula Sauce on the table to spice this up Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 20 minutes Total Time: 35 minutes Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 1 box (16 oz) penne pasta
  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken (home-canned, pre-cooked pulled, shredded, or cubed breasts, thighs, or wings from pasture-raised chickens at Tyner Pond Farm)
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375℉. Prepare a 9x13 casserole dish by spraying with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Cook the penne pasta in a large pot of salted water according to the package directions. Cook until al dente or softer, depending on preference. When done, drain the pasta (do not rinse) and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, add the cooked shredded chicken, ranch dressing, sour cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined. Add the cooked and drained penne pasta into the creamy ranch dressing mixture and mix until all the pasta is well coated in the sauce. Evenly spread the pasta into the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a separate smaller bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled crispy bacon, and chopped green onions until combined. Evenly spread it over the pasta inside the baking dish.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden brown. Serve warm and enjoy!
This Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole can be made with home-canned chicken, pre-cooked pulled chicken, or shredded or cubed breasts, thighs, or wings, all from pasture-raised chickens at Tyner Pond Farm. This ensures a wholesome and flavorful meal for your family.
