If you're considering buying local Grass fed beef, it's important to do your own research and understand the specific practices of any farm or producer you're considering buying from. Some questions you might want to ask include:
  • How is the grass fed beef produced? Is it grass-fed and finished, grain-fed, or a combination of both?
  • What are the animal welfare practices on the farm?
  • How is the beef processed and packaged?
  • Is the beef certified organic or by the American Grassfed association?
  • How is the beef transported and distributed?
By asking these and other questions, you can get a better understanding of the farm's practices and make an informed decision about whether or not to buy their products.
