I received this comment from a Tyner Pond Farm Customer today. It seemed like others might be curious about how we sell our Grassfed Beef Online:

"I Wonder why you don't sell meat priced per pound instead of a range of weight” “Delivery and customer service are great!"

It's a great comment, and one we struggle with a lot.

I'm sharing this picture of how we pack and fulfill orders.   Every week we send in some of our 100% Certified Grassfed Cattle in for processing, and every week we get Grassfed meat back from the processor.  Every single cut of meat has a slight variation in weight just like the grocery store.

In the store you pick up a package and the price is on it based on exact weight and that's what you pay at checkout.

Online that's close to impossible.   We may have 100 Grassfed NY Strip Steaks in inventory.  All of them around the same weight.    If we sold by weight, we would have to enter the weight of each steak as it goes into inventory…a process that would add hours of time.  Then when you were shopping, there would be a drop-down menu a mile long with 100 different weights. That would be cumbersome for the customer.   Finally, when it came time to pack the orders for, the ladies would have to sort through 100 Grassfed NY Strip Steaks to find the exact Steak you ordered...again something that would add hours to the process.

Our solution is to be close.  Sometimes we're a couple of tenths under, sometimes a couple of tenths over...in the end it all works out for both us, and the customer; we hope.

Trust we have studied this from many different angles and are always looking to find the best way :-) I hope you will buy your 100% Grassfed Beef from Tyner Pond Farm. We deliver for free.
