Is Our Beef Grass Fed or Grass Finished? Is It Organic?

Is Our Beef Grass Fed or Grass Finished? Is It Organic?

At Tyner Pond Farm we are 100% Grass Fed and Grass Finished. We're the only beef in Central Indiana certified by the American Grassfed Association. 100% Grass Finished Beef waiting to be rotationally grazed

Organic is a bit more complicated :-)

We've done the hard work to have our land certified organic and we are very proud to have one of the largest certified organic farms in Indiana. We are not able to to certify our meat organic for a couple of reasons:

  1. Not all of our animals are born on our farm. In addition to animals born here, we buy feeder animals from other like-minded farms as babies and raise them here. If they're not born organic then they are never organic...but still awesome and 100% grass fed & finished.

  2. Our hay is not organic. For winter feeding we buy some hay from other farmers locally who share our values (no chemicals, drugs) We grind our own feed for our pigs and chickens with non-gmo corn, not organic, supplied by our neighbor farms.

I hope this helps. We think organic is important but we put a much higher priority on Regenerative practices and soil health....as well as supporting our local community.
