Why do we say Rescue Calves?

It may sound deliberately dramatic, but in the United States, it's estimated that around 97% of calves born end up transitioning from smaller farms to larger-scale feedlot operations. These calves often start their lives on grass and mothers' milk on these smaller farms before being sold.

At Tyner Pond Farm, we choose a different path. We focus on raising calves in a holistic and sustainable way, prioritizing environmental responsibility, human health, and animal welfare. By acquiring calves from small farms, like our recent addition of 43 calves from Greg Judy, we're not increasing the overall cattle population. Instead, we're providing an alternative pathway for these animals, one that aligns with our values and our commitment to grassfed beef.

We believe in creating a system that works with nature, not against it. And we're grateful to have you join us on this journey."

We believe in creating a system that works with nature, not against it. And we're grateful to have you join us on this journey.

Calves at Tyner Pond spend their entire lives Holistically Managed eating nothing but grass, expressing their natural behavior without the need for antibiotics or hormones. It's a good life.

We decided a few years ago that instead of having our own calves born on Tyner Pond Farm and increasing the overall cattle population, we were going to scour the country and find the best ranchers and bring as many as we can to our farm.

This is a bit more expensive for us, but we think it’s important work.

The voluntary calf fund collects from our supporting customers and goes specifically towards our twice per year calf purchases.

Regenerative Farming

We farm with nature, not against it. Through rotational grazing, we rebuild soil health, improve water retention, and increase biodiversity—creating stronger ecosystems and nutrient-rich food.

Pasture-Raised Animals

Our cattle live outdoors and move to fresh pasture daily. They have constant access to clean air, sunlight, and space to roam naturally -resulting in healthier animals and better-tasting meat.

Thoughtful Feeding

Our cattle are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished - never grain-finished or fed industrial supplements. No feedlots, no shortcuts, just real food raised the right way.

  • Highly Recommend!

I ordered different types of meat and cuts from Tyner Pond Farm. Everything was packaged well. Tonight we had the boneless pork chops for dinner. They were very tender and delicious! My husband commented on how good they were. I would highly recomend purchasing your meats from Tyner Pond Farm.

  • Best Quality I've Tried!

I order all of my ground beef from this place and love it! You can tell the quality is way better than the stuff at the store. It’s a different natural color, never smells bad, always cooks just right and no liquid in the pan, and I’ve kept it in my fridge for a month or more and it still tasted perfect.
