We raise Berkshire and Old English “Large Blacks” for our pastured pork. Large Blacks are a heritage breed known for being big, docile, friendly pigs and tasty pork. The breed originated in the early 19th century in England, and thrived in the U.S. before WWII and the switch to industrial, factory-type farming.
We chose this heritage breed in part because we’re not in a hurry to get this pastured pork produced as fast as possible. We take our time, and so do our pigs. They live natural lives and grow at a natural rate. Our pigs live outside year round, enjoying the food they naturally prefer.
Taste our pasture-raised pork and you’ll never go back to store-bought. It tastes better and you feel better, knowing you’re supporting a sustainable approach to farming and humane treatment of livestock.
