This year, I set out to eliminate ultra-processed foods from my diet, along with all seed oils, which are also ultra-processed. As part of this journey, I’ve been finding simple, homemade alternatives for my favorite foods—especially ranch dressing. This recipe uses whole ingredients and is an easy way to enjoy a healthier version of a classic.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain whole milk yogurt*
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- ¼ teaspoon dried dill
- ¼ teaspoon dried parsley
- ¼ teaspoon dried chives
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon mustard powder1½ tablespoons lemon juice
Instructions:
- Combine the yogurt, olive oil, and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Stir until smooth.
Add in the minced garlic, herbs, and spices. Mix well. - Refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
- Serve with your favorite salad or use as a dip.
