pasture raised pigWe raise Berksire and Old English “Large Blacks” for our free range pork. Large Blacks are a heritage breed that are known for being big, docile, friendly and tasty. The breed originated in the early 19th century in England, and thrived in the U.S. before WWII and the switch to industrial, factory-type farming.

We chose this heritage breed in part because we’re not in a hurry to get this free range pork produced as fast as possible. We take our time, and so do our pigs. They live natural lives and grow at a natural rate. Our pigs go outside every day, even in the winter. They eat a varied diet, including fruit and vegetable rinds from leftover from the local juice bar in town.

Taste our free range pork and you’ll never go back to store bought. It tastes better and you feel better, knowing you’re supporting a sustainable approach to farming and humane treatment of livestock.
